Audience: Adults
Over two days, workshop participants will make a traditional 3 or 4 legged creepie stool using traditional chair making techniques and traditional hand tools.
Starting with just a log and using only hand tools you will craft your very own beautiful traditional stool from some lovely locally sourced Ash wood.
If time permits, participants will enjoy a walk and talk around the amazing vernacular furniture collection in the museum at Johnstown Castle .
This course will be run by Dylan McGuirk. Dylan has been working with wood for well over 20 years. As a qualified carpenter/joiner he has worked in house carpentry, boat building, church carpentry and vernacular building conservation work. Suitable for beginners and improvers.
