Pint of Science is a nationwide event that brings together scientists and members of the public over a pint (or two)!

Taking place in a pub, scientists from different sectors get to share their research and findings with the general public, who are also invited to partake in discussions and ask questions in a relaxed and friendly setting. You don’t need any prior experience, and this is your chance to meet the people responsible for the future of science (and have a drink with them).

Donations are for Pint of Science only. Speakers won’t receive any money from the donations.

Speakers:

• Beyond the Lithium-Ion Empire with Rebekah Attard-Trevisan. Rebekah has a PhD in materials chemistry focusing on battery technology, and is now working as a STEM Engagement Officer with CALMAST, SETU’s STEM Engagement Centre.

• Putting People at the Centre: Public and Patient Involvement in Vision Research with Tess Ames. Tess is the Ocular Therapeutics Research Group Manager and INNOVISION Programme Manager at the Pharmaceutical and Molecular Biotechnology Research Centre in SETU.

• Instead of for people with dry eye disease, why not with them? A new way to have better treatments with Dorsa Golestaneh. Dorsa is a PhD Candidate and a member of the Ocular Therapeutics Research Group in the Pharmaceutical and Molecular Biotechnology Research Centre in SETU.
