Abbeyleix Bog Project is an entirely volunteer-run project where the community manages the bog for the benefit of its habitats, wildlife and visitors. This 500 acre bog include several semi-natural and modified habitats, including degraded raised bog, woodland, and winding boardwalk trails.

Join a guided walk with community volunteers through the Abbeyleix Bog boardwalk and learn about the story of its restoration and rich biodiversity, and how this once-worked peatland is being brought back to life by dedicated volunteers.
